After 5.5 months of Richards lies I finally asked him for a refund today and I really got the measure of the man he is trying to give me every lie under the sun why he won't give me a refund and he leaves me with no choice but to take legal action. One of the many I'm sure he has pending.
Avoid him like the plague

Our email exchange now stands at 110 mails which I'm more than happy to make public knowledge despite being threatened with a defamation suit. People will be able to judge for themselves the truth. See you in court!

Hello Richard
I have not heard anything from you in a while and was wondering what was going on with my printer build. I purchased this unit originally on April 26th and returned it to you to build it should of arrived on the 12th of July which is some 6 weeks ago and for the last couple of weeks I've heard nothing. I really need a printer I have lots of projects on hold right now as I can not progress as I have no machine. If I don't have a machine soon I will need to get a refund and purchase one elsewhere this is something that I really didn't want to do as the Sumpod was my first choice machine. Please could you give me and update asap. I'm starting to get very despondent about the whole thing.
Regards
Brian

Hello Richard
Is it possible to arrange to get this kit back to you and for you to build it for me. I have got no where with it. The base plate is simple enough but I have issues on the next step already. Firstly in your drawing the blocks have holes for grub screws, the block I have has no holes, the main bar sits in two end plates, the holes in my end plates are not big enough and it says that the bar is secured with grub screws I don't have any. Either you have changed the design since those diagrams were made or these parts are wrong. I understand that you are a busy man and I am quite willing to pay for you to assemble this machine. As it is I have a box of bits that are different every time I look at any of your diagrams. I have been really looking forward to using the machine but without proper instructions I fear I will have no hope of assembling it.
Any assistance you could offer will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Brian

Sorry to hear of your problems utr, Richard is a true conman. It's a very bitter pill coming from one who had defended the man earlier and try to bring his machines into a new market. But alas, he not only treats his one-off customers like dung, but also his potential distributors that could have provided him with a steady flow of orders in the same manner.
Richard at this point has defrauded me of approximately 5000 pounds. Another gentleman in Russia has been defrauded of about 2000 pounds.
While I did receive one scrap of a kit from Richard, there is still an Aluminum outstanding since January, and a Mega outstanding since April.
I suppose Richard's feigned illness in August was another ruse. Do not buy anything from this fraudster.

Yup another to add to list. I have been trying on and off for around 18 months now with no joy!
I have been to police with no joy also. I am guessing that a severe threat of violence may get the police to listen but not sure if that will get me my printer or money back

I'm taking him to court next week and pressing trading standards to take legal action against him.

I think a lawsuit against a company that has 1,000 pounds of capital will not serve anything it will just put the company into bankruptcy he cheated me 2500 pounds like you I have no answer to my mails and like you I have 200 email with promises of delivery in two days I have a tracking number since August 23 ... I got the sheet metal of my printer and that's it .... a class action is not feasible given the capital of the company

That tracking thing he provides is just pure BS, it's meant to pacify you... its utter crap, it means nothing
I don't believe for one second it isnt worth taking him to court - lets make sure he's a known name at the Court and his Trading Standards office

I have today contacted citizens advice consumer line and they are reporting Richard to Trading standards in Notts and on their advice I have logged a complaint with action fraud.police.uk and urge others affected to do the same. You will receive a crime reference number. This will hopefully take steps to help protect other people from trusting Richard and getting ripped off. April marks our 1 year anniversary from date of order. Enough excuses now.

April marks our 1 year anniversary from date of order. Enough excuses now. I am about to launch a campaign on Youtube showing the E-mail communications between Dick and myself. It also has been a year since I wired Sum my money for a Sumpod Mega. I recommend putting together a short but informative video on Youtube and using the title "SUMPOD SCAM". This will show up when Googled and warn any potential victims off this nut's business (If you want to call it that). I have alerted the IC3 of his scam. I haven't heard from them. It seems we have to go public to stop the inflow of cash going to this bastard liar.

Good Job avictim! I shall be adding a video to this youtube campaign. The more noise we make the better to help more people being ripped off. I am expecting a call from action fraud (the UK version of IC3) in the next day or so. I have also been to the BBC and am continuing to report Richard to as many people as I can find until somebody sits up and pays attention.

Out of interest... might be worth seeing what the tally of theft/fraud looks like. Mr Richard Sum has defrauded me of (roughly) £1,000
Who's next?
Lets see if we can keep a running total?
(how does he sleep at night?)
