Perhaps you should remove the old chip if it is still working and put it in the new board. If not I have on order an lcd + sdcard so I will soon start playing with my firmware again so if you can find out what is specific to your printer I can help you modifying your firmware. The first thing would be to show us the arduino board wiring this will help to don the pin.h file

I started plying up with the firmware but that was not the solution and in the end I ended up re-srewing the bed, mad sure it was flat and it worked

some need fettling other don't what is important is to get the temperature right and you have to think how to position the part before you print

The reason I bought a 3D printer was to do model rocket

Thanks Jason I will take a look at the patched firmware to see if it can help. So far I have changed the DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT for the X axis and I can now print perfect cubes. However circles are far from being perfect and I really need to get those right because I need to print model rocket part such as noise cone.

I wonder if we could adjust it here in the Marlin firmware
#define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {84.88264,84.88264,800.00,60.0}

I had no choice but to redo the carriage because I have changed the hotend. so the backlash is due to that? I know that it needs to be improved and I was thinking of printing a new one. Could we compensate it programatically?

For anybody who like programming I strongly recommand OpenSCAD to design parts www.openscad.org/It is then possible to convert your file to the STL format
